Lauren Ipsum

Lauren is a professional librarian, freelance writer, fanfic enthusiast, and an overall nerd. When she's fixated on something, she sees to it that she gets involved no matter what. Lauren is a huge fan of "Space Vixen" and constantly dreams of marrying her, but she can settle for a princess instead, who happens to live nearby.

Lauren has "street smarts" when it comes to dealing with the fandom culture at large, having been immersed in it for all her life. That trait is less successful when dealing with normal people, especially when she begins nerding out.

Dewey DeSmall

A little fox boy. He lives with Lauren and also works with her at the library, although what he does exactly is a mystery to everyone involved. Dewey is more level-headed than Lauren when it comes to her crazy schemes, although all bets are off when food is involved, especially eggs. Dewey often confides with his best friend, Aqua the mermaid.

Dewey is more outgoing than Lauren, being willing to engage with people more and otherwise just hanging out. Being a big eater, restaurants in town consider him a reliable customer, especially if they have eggs on their menus.

Gutenberg

Lauren's co-worker at the library. He keeps the place running, making sure everything is in place, which is necessary when you have to deal with Lauren's shenanigans often.

Outside the library, he is an avid bowler and always enjoys playing a round, especially with his girlfriend Missy Wolf, also a bowling enthusiast.

Mr. Wolf

A frequent patron at the library, much to Lauren's displeasure. He enjoys reading books and checking them out, but rarely seems to return them on time, which earns ire from Lauren. He has a pair of jackalope goons that do his bidding, but they're just as clueless as he is.

Missy Wolf

Missy Wolf is Mr. Wolf's sister. She works as an editor for a book company, making sure all the books are up to snuff while dealing with the insanity that comes with the publishing industry. This can get even more difficult when dealing with Lauren, whom Missy frequently edits.

Missy Wolf is more level-headed compared to her brother and rarely sees eye-to-eye with him. Missy enjoys being with Gutenberg. Don't mess with her darling "Bergy" when she's around.

Aqua

A local mermaid that Dewey befriended. Aqua always had big dreams, wanting to fly and see the world outside the waters. Aqua also has a fondness for singing, always performing whenever there are sailors around, although her audience always seem befuddled by her music. She has a band with her cousin called the Stinky Corpse.

Coral

Aqua's cousin, an electric eel mermaid. Coral is more shy and reserved than Aqua, although that won't stop her from taking part of her crazy schemes. Whenever she gets overwhelmed, she electrocutes everything surrounding her.

Princess Kat

The fuzzy princess herself. She is the only child of King Fred and Queen Felicia. She has ambitions of how she will do things differently when she takes over ruling the kingdom, but for now she's trying to get through her life. She has a crush on Lauren and likes to hang out with her.

King Fred

Fred is the king of St. Paws, although he prefers to invent new gadgets than ruling the kingdom. Fred hopes that his inventions will improve the lives of his subjects, although more often than not, they need saving from his devices.

Queen Felicia

Fred's darling wife and Kat's mom. Queen Felicia is quite popular with the public, being more outgoing and approachable. She's also voted the most "hip" in town. Having a mom bod helps.

Lily

Lauren's online friend. The two share their love for "Space Vixen" and often nerd out over it. Lily is a freelance artist and makes money doing commissions, on top of her day job.

Dolly Ipsum

Lauren's little sister. Dolly dreams of becoming the dictator of the world when she grows up. She is a handful, as you can imagine.

Kanin Ipsum

Lauren's twin brother. Compared to his two sisters, Kanin is level-headed and no-nonsense, not wanting to deal with any crazy shenanigans. He runs a coffee shop Lauren frequents, Coffee Cravings, which he runs with his business partner and lover Cal.

Cal

Kanin's beloved boyfriend and his business partner at Coffee Cravings. He aspires to write children's books on the side.

Lady Diane

A socialite in St. Paws, at least in her mind. Diane dreams of nothing more than being at the top of the social class, wanting to one-up Queen Felicia in that regard. As a result, she dreams of marrying a rich, upper-class man that can help propel her there, with limited results.
